May 1, 2024 - Lovely and mature. Still some tannins there. Definitely needs air. Opened at 3pm. Took a good 4 hrs to open up, but it did start to fade by around 10pm

December 29, 2020 - Drinkable, but definitely late in life and fading. Substantial bricking, low in fruit, thin, mostly subtle autumnal aromas. I’m sure glad I didn’t pay the current going rate...this is a below average bottle of nebbiolo.

February 1, 2020 - Double decanted in the AM and drunk over a few hours

Lovely cherry fruit, more not he red side of nebbiolo, some medicine cabinet, and roses. Nice understated yet inviting nose. Supple yet lifted with excellent mix of sappy fruit and acidity. Elegant, mid weighted, graceful, floral and fruit driven Barolo. Finishes with balsamic notes on the back end. A lovely graceful wine that is drinking beautifully in a less is more mode. A pleasant surprise. Harmonious and drinking very well.

March 4, 2017 - Over the hill with plums and iron. Although its a difficult vintage, its still disappointing given its a mascarello. The 50 and 60 bartolo i drank were much fresher than this.

May 15, 2006 - While approachable and enjoyable now, this could use at least another five years. The rose-petal and red fruits are showing, but there's quite a bit of tannin left to shed. An impressive performance.
