Community Tasting Notes 9

November 20, 2020 - So often, the last bottle is the best. Not this time. It started with promise, but quickly developed some “dirty” flavors that gave the appearance of somewhat sour fruit. Not undrinkable but definitely had better of these.

  • VDLT Wine Likes this wine:

December 21, 2017 - Modest dark, red fruit remains but mostly spice and earth. As the fruit fades on these, not enough interesting secondary flavors are emerging. It remains enjoyable even if the balance is diminished.

  • VDLT Wine Likes this wine:

May 7, 2017 - Yet another delightful bottle. Very good cellar defender. Not complex but tasty and not without substance. If I can stay away from them, I would like to hold one mid-term to see if it can develop some more mature notes. Not really tannins to age on but should be enough acid.

January 25, 2017 - Drinking right in the zone. Perfumed cherry fruit is plump yet crisp. There's a touch of spice and some earth. It has some floral nuance and sneaky persistence.

  • VDLT Wine Likes this wine:

December 24, 2016 - This bottle seemed more resolved than the prior two. Still tasty and nice with prime rib.
