June 14, 2013 - Nice wine with loads of red cherries and some wild and yet sweet fruitiness that is enjoyable along with decent structure and balance; this could grow on me and I need to revisit this producer down the line.

October 31, 2008 - Still a very deep red colour and looks a lot younger than 8 years old. Huge open nose of mushrooms, forest floor and violets. It had a very sweet, mouthcoating and almost chewy palate which was very multi-layered......lots of black pepper, deep sweet black cherries and demerera sugar. Very harmonious. All the acid that I and other tasters have mentioned in the past has disappeared leaving very attractive fruit and a ton of secondary characteristics. Great length. This was a real delight and it certainly seems to have 5-8 more years of development ahead of it.

October 11, 2007 - Terroir-istes International - New Zealand Pinot Noir & Sauvignon Blanc (Rodwell House): Light garnet to orange-y rim
A fresh nose of seaweed, tidal pool/ozone, white mushroom and tilled earth. Quite a sweet entry; it shows some age and lacks a little in the mid-palate. The finish is fairly long, and the fruit stays savoury-lined with roast meat. A touch bitter and evolved, leading to a rather leathery tannin. Lacks finesse.

July 20, 2005 - New Zealand- Central Otago- Rippon Winery with Nick Mills: Red color and cherries on the nose. A good expression of terroir. The young pinot vines deliver a good structure. The xist soil is well represented here. Mineral notes on the nose and on the palate. A little too herbaceous and acid, could have more balance I believe.

June 14, 2005 - Very cherry style and still a fair amount of acidity but nicely balanced and integrated. Tastes like it has reached full maturity but I might be mistaken. The one factor I don't like is the residual trace of burnt rubber. Good but not great. Super value for money though.
