December 8, 2020 - Ohhhhhh daddy likey!!! Blockbuster Chambertin from Leroy. Last bottle from OWC purchase, this was firing on all cylinders. What stood out for me was the weight and density of the dark fruit profile. Throw in duck consommé, truffle and spice and you have one of the ultimate Leroy experiences.

June 13, 2011 - Chambertin Dinner with Lieu-dit Cru (Inovasi - Lake Bluff IL): Red and black fruit on nose, more fruit than earth-driven, with some background spice. Palate seems more black cherry, also quite young with good spice but not quite the weight or density I'd hope to see. An interesting bottle in the context of the entire dinner because as one of the last vintages of Maison Leroy Chambertin, this was supposedly sourced from Bernard Dugat, whose vines were subsequently used for Dugat-Py Chambertin, with his 2000 and 2001 vintages also served tonight.

March 13, 2010 - La Paulee Gala (San Francisco CA): La Paulee gala. Lighter red fruit and floral to start. Shows great density and darker fruit in the middle, then picks up more spice on finish.
