Richly fruited on the palate without being heavy. Plenty of acidity but without cut. In short, quite harmonious. The tannins are mostly resolved here and allow a modest finish to come through. This is drinking quite well at the moment, and though I think it might show a little more development with some more cellar time, it's beginning to enter its drinking window. A nice bottle.

  October 31, 2007 - Plum colored. The nose is spiced dark cherry fruit, not at all over the top candied, but nevertheless very California in character. More integrated on the palate than my last bottle, with the oak providing only a smoothness and lushness now, no raw texture nor intrusive flavors. This has become somewhat plush on the palate, without a firm acidic spine, but it certainly has enough acidity to keep the fruit very fresh and lively in the mouth. The finish shows no great complexity but reveals some slightly grainy tannins yet to resolve. I feel this wine is still quite primary and will reward some more cellar time with complexity and hopefully some softening of the tannins.
