May 31, 2011 - nose: pine sap and geranium with a little lemon grass and slight maple. robust acidity and gentle tannins. flavor is like a radish with this nuance of pine and did you meet with an undertone of dark chocolateness but not the flavor. the nose on this wine overshadows the flavor but both are still very good. be careful to pair with something that stands up to the high alcohol content of this wine

April 4, 2011 - Fresh grass, green bell pepper and lilacs on the nose. Also maybe some spiced baked plum. Full robust smokey flavor. Nice acidity. Great hearty food wine. A good amount of peppery heat. A touch of bitter on the finish but not enough to call a flaw.
