October 10, 2022 - It was perfectly mature, with a nose of decaying leaves, mushroom and damp earth. There was still something sweet, jubey and vinous at the wine’s heart. It was perfumed, tertiary, silky and persistent. Structural elements have all but folded into the wine.

January 27, 2010 - Mature Burgs and Mexican Food, a successful experiment (Reposado Restaurant, Palo Alto, CA): Bricking medium red color with clear meniscus; mature, truffle, earthy nose; tasty, mature, bacon fat, tart red fruit, mineral, iodine palate; medium-plus finish (lovely for drinking now, and should go 5+ more years)
