July 9, 2023 - Final bottle from a half case purchased recently from the Dutch importer. There was considerable bottle variation among the six bottles, and this one feels a bit tired. The colour has deepened, the dominant flavour is dried apple; the razor-sharp acidity is still there but the bitters are long in the tooth and the finish is salty and a bit dried out.

June 12, 2023 - Second bottle from a half case purchased recently from the Dutch importer. Natural cork. Buttercup yellow colour; very fresh and youthful for its age, minerally energy, citrus fruit, and a delicately waxy and honeyed evolution like a mature, old-school Moselle Riesling. Good length with a touch of savoury oak. Out of the ordinary but interesting and attractive.

May 27, 2023 - Natural cork. Unlike the bottle tasted on 16 May 2023, this one does show some aromatic evolution, consistent with its 16 years of age. Structurally it is completely sound (decanting actually freshens up the wine), with firm acidity and delightful salty minerality, especially on the finish. The flavours of creamy lemon, subtle oak and aromatic green herbs are complemented by yellow apple and a hint of honey, and length is good. Fully mature obviously but not tired at all, sustained by its racy acidity.

May 16, 2023 - Benjamin Leroux Tasting and Lunch (Restaurant Fitzgerald *, Rotterdam, NL): Natural cork. Wonderfully bright and vibrant at 16 years of age, quite lactic on the nose (there was a lot of malic acidity), fresh as a daisy, razor sharp acidity, aromatic green herbs, tart citrus and white orchard fruit, savoury finish. Quite incredible for what it is. Benjamin Leroux did comment that not all bottles of this wine are this preternaturally fresh.

April 6, 2013 - Deep straw yellow color. This wine just oozes minerality on both the nose and palate. Lemon and apple notes mixed in as well. Plenty of acidity with a long, balanced finish. 91-92 pts for me, 92 for Domino. Drink now-2018.
