Community Tasting Notes 13

  • Cote d'Or Likes this wine:

April 15, 2018 - Slow-ox 30 minutes, tasted over 3 hrs, bottle from secondary market
    -mild bricking
-gorgeously expressive right out of the gates then becomes a little shy but still with generous spicy cherry stewed tomato earth faint mature elements
-med acidity, med- weight with average depth spice and dark cherry with faint sousbois overlying a somewhat saline spine, good length and complexity
-this bottle is excellent now in early maturity, no hurry

    October 19, 2017 - Corked!

August 29, 2017 - Very youthful, deep (almost soupy) dark red fruit; clearly very primary but with good purity of fruit and minerality. Needs time!

May 11, 2017 - This bottle might have been flawed, so I am somewhat reluctant to score it. It was purchased several years ago from a reputable source and subsequently stored consistently at 55 degrees, and the bottle appeared pristine, with a perfect cork and nice colour. The wine itself, however, was certainly drinkable but unpleasantly tart and slightly metallic as well. There was also a "tarry" quality that would have led me to guess central Italy if I had tasted it blind.

May 26, 2015 - @Fred_Lund: Even though Bruno is a bit impressed by my body, I still think he could have done better with his Brulée this vintage. It's a bit on the slim side, at least for a Brulée.
