    NOSE: savory bent; dark; some sweet oak; tar.

    BODY: garnet-black color of great depth; large-grained particulate matter; {forgot to note weight}

    TASTE: medium+ to high acidity; not funky; ripe purple/black fruits; "dark"; strong hint of oak; 14.3% alc. doesn't stick out; not very tannic, but otherwise still showing quite youthful; I liked this more on Day 3 than I did on Day 1.

    April 25, 2015 - It definitely needed some age, but was worth the wait. Nicely integrated, good bright fruit, plenty of structure.

    December 28, 2014 - This bottle was not stored in our cellar due to lack of space so was probably "older" as a result. Luscious, aromatic and the tannins were tame.

    April 10, 2014 - Tannins dominate. Should've left it in the cellar until 2017 or drunk it in July with a huge grilled steak in 90F+ weather.

    July 5, 2013 - This continues to be amazingly light on its feet for a syrah / petite syrah blend, with tons of orange peel and bright red fruit wrapped around a striking acidic core. The tannins are starting to resolve and back off a bit putting this in a great place for current consumption. Blossoms and gains complexity after a couple hours open. Great, and a QPR steal.
