April 14, 2012 - Dr. Bob and Elaine Hudak dinner at Lavandou (Lavandou, Washington DC): Sometimes you don’t make friends by writing a TN like this. This bottle was showing very poorly and I believe this is a correct bottle. I read someone mentioning this being Burgundian but I don’t see it. For me this is a typical cali pinot that has seen the better days. The spicy character comes from the alcohol, very little fruits, it reminds me the 01 Clarendon hills Kangarilla.

April 26, 2009 - A great oppty to try the first vintage of the Bush bottling from Skewis. Classic spice and clove nose. The flavor was rich and long with both on the palate taking share from rich cherry in the background. If you have any drink up. A wonderful aged Skewis.

June 30, 2007 - Amazingly, this wine would be a great ringer in a blind Burg tasting. Scents of cinnamon, clove, sweet cherries and a dash of minerals, yes minerals, give this a very atypical look of what can be acconplished in California. Excellent balance and purity, medium depth and persistence in the finish. Not overripe, but subtle, quite fine and lively. Reminds me of Pavelots Dominode...just superb.

November 12, 2005 - TWC does Californian Pinot (Dennis and Karin's): Ruby red. A soft and elegant nose with spice, clove, and cherry. Soft cherry fruits envelop the mouth and the lush texture is full of hints of other red fruits. Medium-bodied, this wine is drinking a point now.
