December 21, 2009 - As a big fan of Alma wines, I think they get better every year. They do try to keep within the same flavor profile, so this is surprisingly similar to the first 2 vintages. These grapes are picked relatively ripe, and the style of wine reflects that. The nose starts with lemon, but continues with some heavier aromas of pear and pineapple. The fruit is focused with your tropical fruits, and a touch of guava, maybe even some mango. The ripeness leaves things a little heavy in the mouth. This is refreshingly not a big acid wine. Some lemon and orange peel on the finish. This wine actually tastes a little better as it warms in the glass.
