February 17, 2021 - Open and drank over four days. An incredible wine that pushes the limits to what a Syrah can offer in terms of transparency, purity of fruit, structure (think all things Pinot like). This may be atypical for the variety in most regions. I wish there were more places to find this type of rendering of the grape. I've seen it most recently similarly expressed at Renaissance in their 2002 Serra Nevada Syrah, but it didn't reach the heights that this wine obtained.

April 18, 2018 - excellent on PNP. Herbaceous fruit with some meaty and mineral aspects, but tannins have melted away to give this a nice soft mouthfeel, even while there is some nice acidity to it. Best bottle of my bunch, so far, by a long shot. Can't understand how people thought this was on the downhill 3 years ago - still improving, to my taste, from my cool cellar! I like this much better than I did 3 or 4 years ago.

May 5, 2017 - Lighter on its feet than most new world syrah interpretations. Very unusual (to me) flavors of herbaceous sweetness. Attention grabbing in a good way.

Cinderella Wine in the Spotlight- Tasting the Most Talked About Wines, Episode #862, 5/13/2010 (link) (88-89) points(Les Cretes Coteau La Tour) #3; COLOR-dark; NOSE-a huge amount of black pepper; like an overly peppered beef jerky; some subtle red fruit on the back end; cherry and red peppers; PALATE-it's pretty light; very delicate; Burgundian characteristics; a hint of ruby red grapefruit; reminds me of salted fish; enormous amount of minerality makes it off balance; disjointed and awkward; some complexities; rose petal; sour red pepper; thought provoking; most won't like this; I like, but the mid-palate is a little hollow; AG-92; GV-88/89
