March 24, 2023 - Beat the '91 Heitz: Disgorged in 2006. Quite oxidative, rich with some honey notes. This reminded me of the 96 Henriot that I tried previously so I went for the same ballpark of late 90s / early 2000s. Sharp acidity on the finish, his champagnes tend to be a little disjointed for me.

December 3, 2022 - 2010 base. Opened for 2 h in wine fridge. From memory. Mild brioche, tart fresh and baked apples, minerals, herbs, a bit of honeysuckle. Nice energy. Excellent acids and medium body. Still disjointed 2h after opening but then came together more about 3h after opening. Was too distracted with New Year's eve celebrations to really pay attention. Liked this but wasn't blown away.

January 6, 2022 - 0 dosage seems noticeable - I found it lacking a bit of oomph. Great with oysters - light ginger ale.

September 28, 2021 - Aromas of hazelnut and apple, pretty mature. Creamy mousse.

June 21, 2021 - I can't recall the dégorgement date. Appearance was bright and clear yellow with golden reflections. Fine and slow bead of bubbles. Layered, complex nose of yellow flowers, candied fruit, honey, orange blossoms, marzipan, patisserie, spices, limestone.
Unbelievable mouth, well integrated bubbles almost caressing your palate, Bourgogne like texture, powerful sapidity, yeasty/beer notes linger before a mineral rocky streak takes over towards the finish.
Quite dry but definitely not flat given the no dosage.
Finessed, subtle yet intense, and worth the price tag.
Well suited for further aging. Village of Trepail in the Montagne de Reims.
