    September 13, 2019 - Dark ruby.
Smoke, dark red fruits, cherry liqueur, charred meats, hoisin, mineralite, with time complex floral aromas and cardamom spice on the nose.
Emulated on the palate with a robust, sturdy, tannic character, very mineral and saline, masculine.
While very nice to follow over several hours I can’t help thinking 10 or perhaps 20 years from it’s apogee, when I think it’ll be very nice indeed.

December 25, 2009 - Christmas Eve with Some Frens; 12/25/2009-12/27/2009 (Ming Kee Seafood): The bottle I heard is a bit of an oddity as not many knew that LJ made an Orveaux. Still deeply red and almost opague. This was so much the younger wine than the 95 and 96 corton we had. Infused brooding black cherries, some woodspice and quite shy . Dark soy notes does surface with time. Strucutured palate with hard characteristics. Kinda rough and ruggard. Big wine with extraction. Probably really needed another 10 years to come together. As of now, quite awkward.
