December 28, 2016 - Cork perfect. Level perfect.
Dark colour, deep red, burgundy, light round the edges with soft tawny notes.
Bright red berries, vanilla, soft leather. Gentle hints of pepper spice and licorice.
Soft initial mouthfeel, classic Hunter, finishes with slightly coarse tannins and relatively firm acidity. Flavours are sweet red berries, leather, ink and licorice. Not so spicy, more fruit driven, and also not overly gamey or developed. Well preserved, quite rustic in style, not all that well balanced but age has softened it nicely.
