  February 7, 2013 - Inky and dark. It has a slightly alcohol nose, but this is not evident on the palate. Blackberry, strawberry with a twinge of a sharp taste in an otherwise really rounded wine.

  January 2, 2012 - I must admit to being a big fan of Tikal wines overall and I might have found my new favorite in their line of wines. Deep purple in color with aromas of black cherry and some vanilla with rich blackberry as well. A 50/50 blend of Cabernet and Malbec, the richness continues on the palate with a mouthfilling buffet of blue and black fruits, some chocolate notes and a long finish with a hint of anise. Very complex and layered, dense fruit but not overpowering or hedonistic. I know I drank this one as a baby and it has many years ahead. I will be securing another to see how it continues to evolve.

  April 25, 2011 - This has bright but fairly reserved fruit at this point and is a bit tannic. Can be drunk now with steak but best to lay down several years.

  July 4, 2010 - Aromas of pain grille, pencil lead, espresso, blackberry and cassis. Lots of oak on the nose as well. Richly layered dark fruit on the palate. Nicely balanced tannin. Very nice.
