February 18, 2020 - dark, ripe black cherry and plum notes. full-bodied with some minerals and dust on the very long and well-integrated finish. leave open for an hour or so and serve with portobello mushroom or burgers.

January 20, 2012 - I thought esb's notes described this wine perfectly, except for his prognostication for it's future. The wine was not so well balanced, and it seems to be treading close to a cliff, which it hadn't yet toppled over. I drank it with a good homemade pizza, and it was perfectly suited to that task. I felt when drunk alone, it seemed unsettled and wayward. I didn't mind the body or weight, which were of magnitude medium-plus, but I found a general lack of acid/tannin balance and some gaps in the music going down.

September 3, 2010 - Inoffensive, thin, simple, no tannins. Round and plush fruit (ripe cherries) and a bit of funk. Lacks acid.

August 29, 2010 - This has a fairly straightforward but pleasant nose of dark cherry fruit with a touch of savoriness to give interest. Upon opening it was a bit thin and simple on the palate, but with a couple hours of air (in bottle), it fleshed out to provide a decent counterbalance to the acidic grip. Some light tannins frame the finish and give the wine some structure to hang its moderate weight on. This works well with tomato sauce and is a perfectly acceptable, if unexciting bottle for the price.

July 11, 2010 - Big round fleshy Barbera d'Alba. Good fruit (dark cherries) and silky but lacking the acidity you'd expect.
