February 19, 2024 - That was a superbe bottle, showing its best and yet still a long way to go. Not at all heavy, not over the top yet, it is strongly going up its own hill with great pride. Deep for a Volnay, for sure, but with so much charm and freshness that one could not guess it is from a late Aug harvest year. Gorgeous aromas, gorgeous texture and yes that magic of profound and yet light on its feet is happening with some of the successful 2003. Beautiful wine.

June 11, 2021 - This has aged very well indeed, and while som richness is certainly showing, it is well balanced. Plenty of sweet fruit, some sous bois, still early days here with hints if wood also. A serious wine.

May 7, 2021 - Pnp from mag, dark fruits and hint of secondary aroma. Sweet on palate, Hawthorne, oak and seems need more time before everything blends together.

3/1/2005 (link)(Bouchard Père et Fils Volnay Caillerets) This is always a warmer vineyard than the ones that surround it, hence, it's often a rush to pick - 2 days later and it can be a very different wine. Philippe believes that this is potentially one of their best vineyard sites. A quite lovely nose, round with a sweet core of fruit. Mouth-staining, concentrated fruit flavours that follow through very well into the mid-palate. Tannins are dry but well managed - in a word gorgeous.
