November 23, 2017 - Thanksgiving dinner with 9 Brunello's
Quite spiced on the nose. Wild berry aromas mixed with a faint amount of cinnamon. Mostly cherry & strawberry. An absolutely perfect balance on the finish. Drinking well and close to be its peak at 19 years. -

April 24, 2012 - Never heard of this producer but the cork is branded 'Barbi'...Savory spice drawer; sage, incense, resin, burnt cherry, sour plum, wood, caramel, touch of volatility. Austere, drying, ashy, plum, somewhat rough palate that totally blossomed with food. Great synergy with pasta puttanesca, showing a savory, resinous, spicy side. Seems like fairly old school Sangiovese here.
