February 4, 2024 - 2010 Was a Good Vintage in France (Jordan's Place - Chicago IL): Caramel and toffee notes. I adored this wine when last tasted (over a decade ago), but tonight’s bottle was flat and uninspiring.

January 8, 2023 - Nose of candied apricot and honey.

Very viscous mouth, it almost looks like maple syrup as it is dense. The acidity is there to bring tension and ensure that the juice remains drinkable and loose. Aromas of candied almonds invade the palate. Big finish on the peach which brings a little freshness to the whole and which coats everything in its path over a significant length.

Very good, but too viscous for my taste, a question of style.

May 29, 2013 - 2003 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris SGN Clos Jebsal - this wine has fine acidity that stood well both with and against the sweetness, giving it much life and movement.
This has concentrated apricot, honey and peach that go on forever and ever.
It amazes me that while the wine is thick, viscous and has a coating mouthfeel, it is able to be such a light , refreshing and lively wine.

    Classic.
    For reals.

February 11, 2012 - Opened by Anwar. Amazing honey, apricot and stone fruit that coats the mouth and never ends. This was incredible.
