October 29, 2001 - Half bottle. Quite deep but healthy bricky red, positive rim; deep and rich nose, lovely old claret character, good oak, ripe black fruit and softer, lighter top notes; firm and well-structured but still well-balanced, dry, good extract, minerally, good fruit flavours; lovely length, leaves the mouth dry but perfumed. Fully mature, showing well, will dry out.

November 3, 1993 - Half bottle. Level into neck, good cork. Fully mature but healthy appearance; warm glowing nose, cedar, nuts, dark pitch, good depth, harmonious, bottle-age; lively and firm palate, good structure, dry and extracted but also with a gentle softness; finishes a bit short and chocolaty, not really convincing. Still: a fine 1955 and in good nick.
