January 16, 2016 - It took a while to adequately extract the cork which had corrosion(which is apparently a good sign). This is my first red bordeaux that is 40 years old. Typical iodine color for an old bordeaux. I had read not so great reviews about Bordeaux wines from the 1970s but was surprised at how smooth it tasted. Very little fruit left but is way better than I was expecting. It seemed balanced and integrated. There was no harsh or acidic taste. Looking forward to trying the other 6 bottles for special occasions. 12% alcohol.
