September 2, 2023 - I remember pouring this wine a few different times because it seemed like i would have it and then get distracted and not end up giving it the attention it deserves. It's a more subtle style than the Jamet which is all dark and animal and in your face really across the board. Here there's a touch more restraint. More dark fruits. Still a nice wine. Wish I had spent a bit more time.

June 24, 2023 - Tasted blind along with the 2016. Fully tertiary with plenty of tobacco and other aging aromas, but a restrained fruit of mixed berries. Harmonious palate with nice acidity, good tension and a long finish. While this drinks really well, with primary fruit pretty much gone this is likely on the decline now – with 5-10 years to go.

December 6, 2021 - Intronizzation Night for Rhone (Lafayette): A go-to producer for me ever since we met him in his basement garage where the wine is stored. This was drinking very nicely. I do think the year has the ability to age longer and so have been trying to keep our hands off of ours in the cellar, but this had the fruit and gamey notes and was very well balanced.

March 7, 2021 - Top notch Cote Rotie, a step behind the ‘98 Jamet, but showing well today. Still surprisingly strong fruit and freshness, but showing earth and spice on finish. Wait another 3-5 years for apogee I suppose.
