Community Tasting Notes 5

June 11, 2023 - Delicious on PnP. Delicious notes of dried rose pedals, crushed red berries, licorice, and mushroom. Still quite a bit of life.

September 7, 2019 - Drank along the 1967 Barolo. More advanced compared to the Barolo, with clearly more bricking in the color. Iron, underwood, old leather, and a hint of red berries on the nose. Integrated tannins with good acidity and red berries on the palate. Good finish, but definitely showing its age. Although both are drinking well, I wouldn't wait any longer in opening these wines, as they are probably declining.

October 27, 2017 - Complex aromas of leather, tar and floral spice. Quite ethereal with plenty of Umami in the mouth. Nice build and finesse.

November 2, 2012 - Friday night for ckinv368's Birthday (Farnatchi, Dallas, Texas): WIML94

Tasted non blind. Opened and allowed to slow-O for about 7-8 hours before serving.

Garnet color in the glass with a little brownish twinge here and there, fairly clear looking. Nose of saddle leather, truffle, spice and dried herbs. Flavors of berries, raspberries, cherries and a bit of mushroom. Medium to tangy acidity, medium tannins, full bodied. Drink or hold.

February 2, 2010 - Longboard does Dallas (Amici's Signature Italian, Carrollton, TX): WIMLNR

Tasted February 2, 2010 at an offline. Opened and Slow-O for about 7 hours before serving. Slightly brownish and cloudy looking the glass. Nose of leather, anise, a hint of caramel early on and a bit of camphor. Flavors of licorice, berries and raspberries. Light to medium acidity, resolved tannins, medium body. Based on the performance of this bottle I'd say drink now but this bottle wasn't as expressive and youthful as other bottles I've had before so therefore I'd say drink or hold and give this bottle no rating.
