April 17, 2024 - This red is now in a great place and while it has the potential for further development and fining down, it's drinking extremely well right now.
The bouquet is complex, with notes of blackberry, cedar and spice - not overtly peppery. The palate is medium to full bodied and has a wonderful mouthfeel - rich, plummy and complete and then the finish is long flavoured, with great balance between gentle acidity and soft, long tannin.
In all, a most satisfying, high quality red, that with the pedigree of Great Western, will live on easily for another decade for the patient of hand.
