December 28, 2019 - An easy afternoon with close friends; Pomerol, Pauillac and Pessac. (@ PdV): Mature bouquet with tobacco, mushrooms, autumn forest and rustic impressions. On the palate red berries, a bit dusty and rustic. Some celery. Old age acidity and hardly any tannin left. Very mature and still alive, but no score.

January 27, 2019 - If I remember correctly, Pontet-Canets vintages of the ‘80s are supposedly not among their best. I wouldn’t call this 1981 a big wine either, but suprisingly fresh for its age, with well integrated tannis and a good lenght. Blackcurrant, tabacco and bellpepper set the tone.

October 12, 2012 - Passed Peak. Very little sediment. Decant and let it open up for at least an hour. It will improve. Drink now.

January 25, 2011 - Very dark colour, nose of blackcurrant and tobacco. Beautiful palate with with loads of dark fruits, blackcurrant, cedar and hints of earthiness. It has mellow down, still have good acidity. This is pretty good and still can last for few more years.
