May have been past its prime
OK fruit, decent nose is the most kind I can be. -

September 27, 2023 - Initially very dark and bruting, with black currant and raspberry aromas filling the room. Dry with moderate acidity on a sour note featuring tart cherry and hints of crushed pepper. After an hour or two, begins to reveal restrained honeysuckle and some white flowers on the nose as the fruits tone down a bit, followed by more focused flavors of black cherry and plum with hints of ground pepper and spices culminating in a suave saline textured mouth-coating finish. Not subtle but good balance here with moderate tannins still present. Perhaps still an upside. Feels like this is still in a good spot with many years ahead for well-kept bottles.
