January 3, 2023 - Pop and pour. Though initially reticent on the nose, this opened to show attractive red fruit--strawberry, raspberry--dried orange rind, and some floral notes. The palate is medium light and silky textured with a very pure fruit impression. The acidity is high and while there is a touch of the astringent underripe green acidity lurking on the back end, the fruit is mostly able to mask that. The tannins seem almost completely integrated at this point. For my palate, this is probably drinking at or near peak. I don't think there's much upside to continued cellaring, since sooner or later the fruit will fade and the acidity is likely to become harsh.

September 30, 2021 - Nice pretty light red. On pop and pour nose is pretty red fruit/cherries. Acid predominates the lovely light red fruit. Quite pleasing.

August 8, 2020 - A high acid 2008. Pretty aromatics and an attack of juicy dark cherries and earth. Mid palate is all acid but cherries jump back in at the end. Worked well with tonight’s duck.

January 2, 2019 - This is the bee's knees! Last bottle consumed in 2011 was bright and youthful...full of flavor...this bottle 8yrs later still showing wonderful fresh crushed raspberry and black cherry, more tertiary earth and savory than the crunchy snap in its youth. Full stem funk, sandalwood spice, smoked cherry tree twigs...has a wonderful silky smooth palate, structure just hanging on with the slightest dusty powdery tannins...aged leather and smoky forest floor...pretty flowers...soft, slight white pepper spice finish. Probably a little more fun in its youth...but tasty none the less, especially for the address.

January 28, 2017 - December '16 - January '17 Events: One of the classier, most concentrated SLBs I’ve had. Aromas of blackberry and licorice. Dense for a Savigny but still high-toned, with flavors of crushed blackberry and dark chocolate. Dusty tannins suggest there is still evolution left for this bottle. Agree with other note on the stemmy funkiness as well. Would have rated higher but it just wasn't at my preferred ripeness level.
