April 7, 2024 - Auction purchase; this was really quite good; cork was only saturated about 1/4 of the way up; the nose initially had a bit of dust and earth that dominated, but with about 45 min of air this really blossomed with lovely ripe cherry and black raspberry, underbrush and just a hint of sauvage along with some baking spice and black tea. The palate was initially still a bit austere, but with air it smoothed out and became more balanced. Good concentration. This has plenty of time. Served with a lamb stew and it worked well.

August 15, 2023 - This is so seamless and so classy -- no NSG rusticity here. Fragrant, floral nose. On the palate, this shows deep brambly fruit with fine structure. Really attractive now but still 5 years or more until peak.

January 1, 2023 - Superb showing with great complexity in nose and mouth, medium-full body, silky texture one sees in LSG, length. Perfect for drinking now, but no rush. Cellared since original release.

October 4, 2022 - This is a very pure and powerful red Burgundy with a beautiful Pinot quality and delicious dark cherry fruit. Intense and full-bodied with a really dense core with good acids and a youthful texture. The finish is still rather grippy and tight but with air (I had it decanted) it showed wonderful notes of forest floor, minerals and red spices. Lovely and still on the upswing. 94+

(Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint-Georges") Nose of bacon, mint, duck, marmalade, sous-bois, orange rind, floral, mushrooms, blueberries. Wow . . . so complex and ethereal. Intense and soaring nose. Great mouthfeel. Precise yet velvety with laser-like focus. Dark fruits on the palate with and endless finish. So sappy and dense. Black raspberry note on the finish. Minerality all intertwined. This is a benchmark NSG and the best Chevie I have had. Run and get this . . . .
