October 1, 2023 - The nose on this is intoxicating. The palate is undergrowth, tobacco, cranberries, and a potpourri of herbs. The acidity is what you would expect in a 2008. A nicely aged Burgundy.

March 5, 2021 - showing some age with the washed out color. Tannins are melted away. Earthy and mild fruited, nice sipping wine.

    June 21, 2020 - Tasted over 3 hrs
    -med dark red mild bricking
-moderately expressive dollop of stony sweet black cherry with just a hint of Gevrey earthiness and roasted grain
-med+ acidity leaves a spiky sharp edge on the finish but is wrapped in a softly textured velvety sappy mid-palate of black cherry rhubarb earth and long finish of mint-inflected moderate oak residue and med tannins
-interesting and complex with Maume and Gevrey characteristics but the acidity leaves the balance a bit off

June 19, 2020 - Appearance: pale, garnet, hazy (unfiltered)
Nose: medium intensity; aromas of red cherry, black olive, violet, toast, earthy, black tea, wet leaves, savoury, lavender, subtle dried mushroom, coffee. It's developing.
Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, pronounced flavour intensity, dried mushroom and herbal notes come through. The finish is long.
Overall, it's an outstanding wine. Can drink now, has potential for further ageing.
It's a truly elegant wine. It is very complex on the nose with layers of fruity, floral and earthy characters gently emerging from one to another. The acidity is high but perfectly balanced with fruits so that you actually don't feel it unlike a lot of other Pinot. The flavours are well defined and you can actually taste all the notes that you got from the nose. The finish is persistent with nice red fruit and toast notes lingering on the palate. More importantly, it's just really enjoyable to drink. I'm keeping sipping and find it gone so quickly without even noticing it. After all, that's all you need for drinking wine, isn't it?
Drink the other half at the night. Wow! So perfumed like being emerged in a flower garden. So charming! One of the best Pinots I have had so far.

    March 18, 2019 - PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-med dark ruddy red mild bricking
-perfumed complex warm rich earth lifted floral mildly acrid some oak
-med+/high acidity, med/med- weight high-toned earthy spicy, med/med- tannins with an echo of oak on the moderately long finish
-intriguing interplay between high-toned acidity and warm earthy Gevrey spice, if the acid doesn't completely dominate like it did in some '96 red Burgs this should hold steady for another 5-10 years as it picks up mature elements
