March 20, 2011 - For a $10 bottle of wine, this was pretty enjoyable. This nose is very fruit forward and the color is light red/brown. I tasted a little right after opening the bottle but it was very tight and disjointed. It did improve quite a bit after 1 to 2 hours. A little red fruit, coffee, savory components and a little black pepper. With food, it was much better than by itself. I can't put my finger on it, though, there's something a little disjointed about this wine on the finish. But for $10, I think it's a good value.

October 22, 2010 - Brownish brick in color. Foresty mushroom with some herb on the nose. Soft entry of perfumed sweet cherry with spice. A slight alcoholic bite on the finish, but great for the price. Nicely done & the best Wente pinot noir that I've tasted so far.
