April 22, 2015 - Maturing and now becoming something to examine deeply.
Nose is that fabulously smooth German Riesling tone, a distinct presence of Petrobras and rounded maturity (peach, honey, syrup, custard cream, Chardonnayishness, smoke, dried fruits, pot-purri, oldfashioned strawberries "smultron", lime, etc).
In the mouth, this wine has some mending to do. It seems that the fruit is declining but the rest of the wine is still young. Intense, non-integrated acids, with citrus sharpness (kabosu). M-bodied and gives the impression that a bit of sweetness would have balanced this slightly awkward wine. Pretty long and engaging finish. Many interesting notes, quite complex.
Better at room temp than chilled.
After some airtime, it integrates somewhat.
A great wine, but we are so greedy: We expected more!
One btl to go, and we say 2017 and expect a rather tired, BUT interesting encounter. If you have plenty, please start drinking.1 person found this helpful Comment -

April 17, 2015 - Lots of mineral, certain spicyness, carambole fruit, lime and petrol. Fresh acidity, almost too much still but the hard edge acid is gone and it appears a lot more mellow than 3 y ago. Can still be held on to without problem. This has gained a lot more complexity and it's really good even on its own. 90-91p

February 14, 2014 - Great riesling, would love to try this from a warmer vintage, like -09. Sadly I missed out on that one. Still, this is a great piece of Riesling, and well worth seeking out. Classic and very dry.
