December 2, 2023 - Is this finally entering a gentle downslope? Maybe - or just maybe it feels like that after drinking an 09 that still has so much life in it. Either way - this was good, autumnal, tannins receding some dark fruits under there, this is just a lovely, well balanced drop.

October 13, 2023 - 100% Malbec, de-stemmed, 40 days of maceration, malolactic fermentation is done in oak barrels, aged 24 months in new (80%) and once used barrels, bottled without fining or filtering, 13.5% vol.

Decanted 3 hours before dinner and still improved a lot in the glass. Complex nose with dark berries, underwood and a suggestion of liquorice, on the palate dense, elegant and very precise with a long finish, grand class.

Superb Cahors, just entering its drinking window and has a decade or two ahead, 93+.

November 18, 2022 - Opened and double decanted. On the nose - forest floor, hint of spice. On the palate - lovely - gentle red fruits with some tannic bite behind them - some spice (from the oak I think) but fully integrated. There's acidity to balance the richness - this is bold but one could drink half a bottle without getting tired, as I discovered in a little over an hour. Reminded me of one of the Ridge zins I had a couple of weeks ago.

Lovely stuff - on my last few bottles now, shall miss it when it's gone.

February 20, 2022 - Gloomy February Weekend in London; 2/19/2022-2/20/2022: Touch of forest floor on the nose. Really starting to open up now. Complex, deep and savoury - went very well with home made burgers and doctor who. Mrs M really likes this wine - makes me think I should explore Cahors, and indeed Malbec in general - more.

October 3, 2021 - This went down a treat with our roast beef for Sunday lunch. Opened an hour before lunch and left to breathe. Lots of fruit on both nose and palate along with a touch of graphite and leather. Still quite fresh but well into its drinking window, although still lots of time ahead of it too. Definitely one of those wines you wish you had more of.
