May 18, 2013 - Light gold color and more floral but also some banana on the nose. Initial taste lights up the tip of the tonge with bold acidity. But this quickly evolves into a layers of honeydew melon, banana and then the oak kicks in but not the real buttery oak. I may be off base on this but it tastes of American Oak barrel aging rather than French oak. The bottle has been open for about an hour now and has softened up. The acidity is not as apparent and it has a wonderful lingering finish. I suggest food with this wine to balance the acidity, but other than that, this Chard is spectacular. Plenty of life if still cellared.

December 29, 2012 - Wonderful Chardonnay. I really enjoy it as it warms up a bit, bringing the oak and butter flavors to the top.

July 22, 2010 - I'm a little conflicted on this. This was served to me blind, and the color told me (incorrectly) that this was an older wine. On the nose, it was clearly Chard. The palate was a bit confused and, well, unusual. Not a whole lot of fruit up front. I kinda had to look for it/think about it. Some tropical notes popped up, some pineapple and coconut. But the most prominent flavor was in the finish: a toasty nuttiness/caramel. I thought oxidization (which the color was telling me too). But, I have to admit to really liking the nutty finish, and it was very long and I kept going back for more of it.

So, I'm not sure what to think. I have a nicely aged 2008 Chard.. hmmmm... I guess I'll have to pop the other bottle to see if this is what the winemaker intended/got from the grapes.
