Community Tasting Notes 10

August 15, 2022 - Decanted for 8 hours. This did not evolve over the long decant, and showed some extracted fruit and seemed to have VA. Served blind, least favorite wine of the flight.
On opening: Black fruits, and VA on the nose. Deep overly extracted palate, meaty in a Northern Rhone sort of way, lacking elegance and finesse
At tasting: Big nose, black fruit and more VA. Palate remains deeply extracted and beefy with robust 09 fruit but lacking in elegance and did not possess much Chambolle character.

June 22, 2022 - aroma of purple fruits, red fruits, berry, some tertiary. Great nose.

  • Alex G. Likes this wine:

January 1, 2021 - Dark brambly sweet fruit. Dark color. Moderate tannin. This is enticing out of the gate, with plenty of stuffing to evolve. This probably deserves some years in bottle, but we like Prieur in this opulent primary phaee.

September 23, 2020 - Chambolle & Gevrey BYO (Grand Hyatt Hong Kong): Two bottles. Ripe and deep heat, somewhat bitter. Packed and linear. 91+

August 9, 2020 - This is an exquisite wine. Dark ruby with significant fruit and floral aromas on the nose. This is medium bodied but the tannins are still evident given the size and structure of the wine. The aftertaste has a wonderful vibrancy with a long finish. I loved this. Arguably my WOTN amongst a wonderful selection. This will get better and better also. Shared by KB
