June 6, 2021 - "Brunch is the gamay of meals" (Chicago, IL): Very much a bottle that was still alive. A very strange nose here, with something that smells like an Andes mint (yes, that's right). On the palate, that weird smell does go away -- this is one of those high-botrytis, apricotty chenins. If it had more of an acid vein, you might have confused it with an Huet (but then again, this isn't Vouvray).

July 22, 2011 - Medium gold color. Aromas of honey, varnish, and lemon. Palate shows honey, ginger, and lemon notes with a bitter citrus rind element on a medium-long finish. Some sweetness remains in this and a bit of fresh cow-milk cheese remedies the bitter component and really lets this wine shine. A medium-sweetness experience now with a pretty good structure suggesting additional bottle age won't detriment this wine. Fully mature and ready. Drink or hold.

April 27, 2009 - G6 (Rick): One of the oldest Quarts de Chaume I've had the opportunity to taste. Golden yellow color. Strange nose. Quite metallic and bitter. Showing TCA after 5-10 minutes in the glass.

September 24, 2008 - From memory but this was great with cheese after dinner. Nice and smooth, with everything in the right place for a wine of it's age.
