91 Bodega Renacer 2008 Punto Final Reserva Malbec (Perdriel).
A rich Malbec with graham cracker, pastry, blackberry and boysenberry aromas. Talk about super concentrated; this is thick but balanced, with tannic grip and dark, baked flavors of berry and chocolate. Bulky on the finish, with peppery spice and vanilla. -

First day it showed a lot of heat, second day a bit mellow; by the third day this was not only pleasant to drink but delivering an elegant structure and balance. Nice effort here, again, from a consistent producer at a very good value!

June 9, 2010 - Bitter vegetable taste on the front end with a lingering bitter onion taste on the finish. Drunk much too young for its own good. Needs significant age to smooth out the bitter tannins.
