May 21, 2020 - This bottling/producer has always been a bit of a problem with me, many pre oxed and so this being my last bottle I couldn't expect greatness so just pnp and while this was advanced it was not pre ox as it wasn't showing sherry notes though pretty golden in the glass. Thoroughly enjoyed this with a rich creamy mushroom sauce, mainly orchard fruit, no citrus, oily to an extent, just quite delightful. Drink now!

April 4, 2019 - A great bottle, pristine, shows not an iota of pre-mox, which is sadly so prevalent with Matrot in the 2000's, in my experience. But this was such a rewarding bottle. Incisive and notably pure aromas of cool vanilla inflected lemon and stone fruit, hints of smoke, and stone. The palate shows the amply body of Meursault, the almost oily texture, but the wine is focused and lithe, very energetic, with flavors that spread throughout the palate and really linger. Very long and mineral, and highly expressive, this was just a joy, and it improved steadily over three hours, and showed no signs of stopping. Such a gamble holding these, but a bottle like this one makes it feel worthwhile.
