Community Tasting Notes 11

March 24, 2024 - This was a great bottle! PNP in a restaurant, the nose was open immediately. Notes of black and red currants, plum, graphite, cigar, spice and florals. Nicely resolved on the palate, with the structure holding up. In 2019, I said, "2020-2029" and I'll stick with that.

August 31, 2020 - Nice well made St. Emilion - didn’t decant but nose was popping early with dark red black fruits, earth and classic Bdx lift of mineral. Palette was great - big with same dark fruits and voluptuous with earth tar and leather and mineral with full body and tongue coating with nice long finish. Still had a bit of tannin but I like that.
    Surprised by the QPR here.

November 10, 2019 - Ten year CdP and Bordeaux retro tasting (with ringers). Hosted by Grinner.

Bordeaux Flight Two - Wine Three:

A whole lot of fruit, more than is typical of Bordeaux, which put my mind to a New World ringer. Well made and tasty.

November 2, 2019 - The Annual Lyon 10 Year Retrospective (Chateau Lyon): The depth of black fruit and cigar box made me guess wrong ("Left Bank?" in my blind notes). Long tannic finish, just great Bordeaux for $36. 93 on day 2. 2020-2029.

September 23, 2019 - Brought this to a banquet, so I wouldn't have to suffer through the hotel's "by the glass' red. We had this right after the 2009 Shafer One Point Five. For me, this was more elegant, and had a better balance between the fruit and tannins. I enjoyed it a touch more that the Shafer, so I'll give it one more point.
