Community Tasting Notes 10

October 29, 2022 - This was a decent bottle of wine, so I’m calling this a win. I took a bottle of this to a get together with wine geeks a couple of months ago and it was over-the-hill and not worth drinking. This particular bottle wasn’t great, but it was only slightly past its prime. Zach noted the wine still had excellent acidity, despite it’s age. The wine was only slightly dark. Some lemon on the nose. Some honey and good minerality on the palate. Should have drank this eight years ago.

October 29, 2022 - From magnum over 2 days. Clear yellow with orange tint, not oxidized per se, but maybe a little. Pretty nose of sweet honeycomb. good intensity of flavors, not too reminiscent of chardonnay but of an off dry wine. Nice flavors of honey, flint and beeswax with a pleasant, refreshing and long finish. Parred well with cheese and fish and fun to drink on its own. It is past its prime but drinks fine.

January 1, 2011 - Tight nose but finally decanted and aerated to see what it's got. Intense yellow hay color. The 1st hour tight with upfront fruit and little else. Then 2 hours later the nectarine and under ripe stone fruit mixed with light honey and lemon flavors expanded. Hints of minerals and almonds. Turned quite fleshy and full in the rear pallet and finish. Certainly Chablis style and atypical Cali-chard. Wine is still on it's way up before hitting a holding pattern. Have the next bottle in 2012 at the earliest.

November 9, 2008 - Excellent crisp chardonnay. Lots of acidity, vanilla and a little lemon. A solid wine.
