November 21, 2014 - Stewed red fruits, unbalanced acidity and fruit. A menthol, minty mid palate with a chalky bitter finish. Overly ripe, and a lack of structure and tannin. Not worth the value price. Pay the extra few bucks and get a Cabernet from the North Coast.

November 22, 2013 - It was a bit harsh right out of the bottle, but much smoother after decanting for about an hour and as the evening progressed. Was nice with grilled strip steaks, roasted Yukon potatoes and salad. Medium body and a fairly long finish. At $32.50 for the 1.5L bottle, a pretty good value. Drink now - I don't think further storage will improve it much more.

February 15, 2013 - 5th Annual Open the Bottle Night and Eros Vertical Tasting (Carlson's Cellar): Not as a big a hit as last year, but still a solid QPR wine and a convenient party starter in a large format bottle.

January 27, 2013 - Great wine with red meat. Drinks better from the larger format.

February 22, 2012 - 4th Annual OTBN - Was a hit at the party as the starting wine. I would have given 88/89, but others consistently went to this magnum over several other higher priced wines. Slow open about 1 hour prior to drinking and improved through the night. Very good QPR.
