    Nose:
    Medium (+) Intensity
    - Apple, Pear, Lemon, Green Mango, Biscuits, Bread Dough, Toasted Bread, Fresh Herbs

    Palate:
    Dry
    High Acidity
    Medium Alcohol
    Creamy Mousse
    Medium Bodied
    Long Finish
    Medium (+) Intensity
    - Apple, Pear, Lemon, Grapefruit, Biscuits, Toasted Bread, Pastry, Almond, Wet Stones, Chalk

    Quality:
    Very good
    - Intense, concentrated green fruits and citrus fruits flavours, some green tropical fruits and fresh herbs flavours, very expressive autolytic notes of bread, pastry and soft cheese. The intensive flavours are balanced with sharp acidity, and though the fruitiness and autolytic flavours are both intense, they do not overwhelm one another, such impeccable balance of flavours, great structure and complexity too. The mouthfeel is creamy and rounded, finished long with lingering notes of minerals and biscuits. Very enjoyable, already a very good champagne, would be outstanding if the wine displayed some tertiary flavours, but this will come with time. At US$50, this is a superb value NV champagne.

    Suitability for bottle ageing:
    Suitable for bottle ageing. Strong structure, intense flavours, ample acidity, would definitely improve.

    March 27, 2024 - Older disgorgement (don’t know exactly the year). Lean bubbles, golden yellow, very good volume. Acacia honey, creaminess, lemon tart, marzipan.

    January 29, 2024 - My first experience with Doyard. I can see why this is such a revered producer. The acid on the Vendemiaire is just absolutely killer, and there’s loads of quiet complexity to the wine. This is one that gets a bit lost in lineup this large, and really deserves its own full evening to sip and analyze. Glad I have another bottle to enjoy later.
