February 21, 2024 - Champagne, Red Burgundy and Riesling - Q by Peter Chang (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): There's a bit of controversy as some think the bottle is corked. Medium expressive nose displaying generous red and black fruit fruit, strawberry candy, cherry pie, black cherry, a hint of sous bois, grilled cep, soy, Vosne spice, iron, dark spices, and earth. Excellent concentration, generous ripe and slightly dry red and black fruit, warm and round, medium acidity, earthy mineral, noticeable but non-obtrusive tannins, and a medium long finish generous red fruit driven finish with a hint of a dirty damp cellar/Brett at the end. While I don't get any TCA taint but it is slightly dirty. It somewhat reminds me of some of the 1983 reds which were affected by rots. The rating is low due to the slightly dirty finish. Caveat emptor, i.e. excellent provenance.

January 28, 2023 - Delicious and mature aromas with red fruits like strawberries, in addition to Vosne like spices. Light weighted, elegant and delicious in the mouth.

December 15, 2018 - Dinners around the HDH Auction; 12/13/2018-12/15/2018 (Chicago IL): Opened, decanted 45 minutes before serving alongside the Mongeard-Mugneret 2002 Richebourg. This was bright with so much red fruit and Asian five spice. Very good weight and length. Much better/ fresher/ denser than another bottle from the same case opened last year.

February 2, 2018 - Bricking but acceptable, ok but probably a touch past it’s best

August 3, 2017 - Casual Burgundy Dinner (Formento's - Chicago IL): Classically Vosne aromas of red cherry, slightly sweet spice and floral hints. Nicely mature, perhaps slightly more advanced than 2002 Grand Cru should be, but still very enticing. Good weight and length, even if not quite up to Grand Cru expectations, but very tasty and very well balanced. Best to enjoy within the next 5 years.
