December 25, 2017 - This is a delicious yet unheralded passito dessert white from Sardinia. Clear, medium (+) gold, with intense aromas of apricot, honey, candied lemon, caramel, toasted hazelnuts. The palate is sweet yet manages to maintain at least medium acidity. The alcohol is high (14.5%) but unobtrusive. It must have been made with incredibly ripe grapes to achieve both this level of alcohol and sweetness. Very rich and creamy mouthfeel, with intense flavors and a long finish. Predictably, it pairs wonderfully with almond florentines, panforte and other nutty, dried fruit Italian desserts. Remarkably youthful despite its age and worth seeking out. Best served a little cool, it has several years left if properly stored.

January 3, 2010 - The nose and palate of roses is a bit overwhelming. Very floral.

April 15, 2009 - Aprilsmagning Vinstyrke 12 (Spar Nord, Hjørring): Klar gylden farve. Sødlig med blomsterpræg. Fantastisk duft. Fed fed vin. Sødmefuld og alligevel med balanceret syrekant. Dejlig dessertvin.

(ANGIALIS Argiolas) Weekend Send-Off Dear Friends, A few odds and ends to greet the weekend - more interesting finds while I am pounding the pavement. All have impeccable provenance and are in original release condition. Have a good weekend... 2003 Domaine Chateau de Maltroye Chassagne-Montrachet (rouge) STRICT LIMIT 3/person at this price (Compare at $40-45+) If you are looking for Burgundy to drink over the next 3-5 years, this is a very serious effort from Cournut and he knows it: 2004 Argiolas “Angialis” (500ml) EXTREMELY LIMITED Ok, there are only 150 bottles of this amazing dessert wine for the entire US market and between Babbo and a few other NY spots, half will be gone. That leaves 75 bottles for all 50 states (1.5 bottles per state?). I guess this is the definition of the world rare. Yes, I paid more than I wanted but with a wine this limited, I didn’t care. Last year’s 2003 was a mini-sensation and this is 2004 (you now how good 2004 was in coastal Italy and Sardinia) - expect grandiose praise. Fantastic wine. 2004 Jean-Michel Stephan Cote Rotie Tupin Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg6877 Italy8598 Rhone7669
