  Smells of wet dog and old yellow apples. Not as much fun as the next wine, and considerably dryer in how it felt, although both were the same Demi-sec wine but different vintages. Very good acidity still. Before food pairing this felt fresher, but with the foie gras (served on butter fried brioche with an onion cream, some portobellos, apple compote and Piemonte hazelnuts) the second wine was clearly the winner and this felt more ordinary. Guessed Chenin Blanc from Loire, but too a large extent because the person who brought these two wines is famous in our tasting group for always bringing Chenin from Loire...
