September 27, 2019 - Ard & David’s 50th birthday dinner (Chez David, Amsterdam, NL.): Level base of neck. Mature but lively appearance; lovely nose, transparent but with nice gravelly warmth, vinous, vestiges of fruit and even some floral lift; light and slightly sweet palate; good length. An excellent 1969.

April 18, 2011 - Opened the bottle assuming that one snif would trigger the immediate disposal of the content via the sink, but what I smelled was not bad at all. Level high shoulder, color medium ruby, even getting a little darker and fuller after opening. Classical old Bordeaux nose, hardly any fruit left, but not unpleasant. Becoming sweeter, even a little herbacious. Taste confirming the nose. Not recommended for new-world-fruit-blockbuster-only-lovers. My first 1969 and if not the last ever, probably the best....
