April 22, 2023 - Red fading to light garnet. Mint, herbs, and blackberry aromas. Tart, lean, and tight to start, it benefited greatly from a few hours in the decanter, developing a layer of flesh and more sweet cherry fruit to go along with its soil-filled, acidic backbone. This wine has always gone against the grain of this rich, ripe vintage, and this final bottle was no different. The strength of the fruit at this age was impressive.

Typé morgon avec un aspect ferreux. Il est encore relativement jeune. -

March 26, 2022 - Light ruby. Light weight. Fascinating mix of blackberry, cranberry, and plum with light herbs and a real backbone of stoniness. This has always shown more lean and structured than most wines from this vintage. It continues to perform really well.

September 12, 2021 - Muddled red color. Some green herbs admixed with ripe cherry fruit. Last tasted 6 years ago, this has really added some impressive flesh to its tangy, stony core without being as rich as many 2009 Beaujolais crus. Quite a marvelous wine that is hardly done yet. I am so glad I cellared some.

November 5, 2019 - This was lazy, random or call it blind pull from a convenient shelf. I wasn't sad to see what I had pulled. The cork pulled was strange in that it had zero color stain on the interior end. This has the bubbly Gamay fruity nose at this age showing some depth and interest. To the palate this was medium weight but with an explosively flavorful entry and mid-palate that led to a very non-contiguous, clipped finish. The presence is silky smooth, and it smoothly glides across the tongue throwing sweet and sour cherry-berry flavors alloyed to some serious mineral components. While the finish is short in terms of fruit and flavor, the sense of acidity and those minerals linger for a good time. This seems extremely acidic, almost like biting into a pomelo, and this is a sensation I greatly enjoy. At ten years old, this wine seems to be in a perfect pocket right now. It doesn't show any signs of age or tiring out (at least not in this first glass), but it has matured into a fully formed adult. 90-91pts.
