Community Tasting Notes 5

January 1, 2012 - Excellent nose with a sweet aroma to it and and extremely smooth taste. Much less alcohol then you would expect for a relatively inexpensive Beringer Port especially this young Cab Sauv Port. The overall taste is extremely smooth and silky for this special Cab Port. Just a nice sensational port which has the perfect sweet and complexity balance so that you really taste the finish. Very balanced port with good overall taste and finish. At about $25 a bottle for a 750ml when on sale through the member sale, this is an exceptional value. Definitely will buy again before they disappear and highly recommend to Cab lovers or individuals who appreciate a nice state side port.

February 13, 2011 - A very impressive port made from Cabernet. Great nose and heavy hitting. Great QPR. Perfect end to paired evening. Too bad they haven't made this since.

June 29, 2009 - Sonoma-Napa Trip Day 4 and 5; 6/29/2009-6/30/2009 (Napa and Sonoma): 19% ABV. 100% Cabernet. Rich sweetish. Okay, not my style.

January 18, 2009 - Excellent nose with sweet aromatic and much less alcoholic punch you'd expect from a CS Port. The sweetness is just right and the sensation is quick to reveal itself. Very balanced with good overlapping interplay capped with a medium finish. Tasted this during a Beringer tour and brought a bottle home. Definitely will buy again.

May 27, 2008 - Very smooth silky taste; no bite, just sweet fresh berry taste. I could not distinguish flavors or hints of flavor in the smell, but doesn't have the alcoholic smell of other ports I've tried. It would be fabulous with chocolate, but finished the GS Thin Mints earlier! The lingering taste on your tongue makes you long for another sip. I'm a fan!
