September 26, 2020 - Paperwork not handy. I bought the '02 from Binny's for 17/b about 12 years ago--good chance that this came from the same place for about the same price. Decanted with relatively light sediment for its age. Dark purple; Bordeaux-like nose and body but more cherry (from the Sangiovese), bit past prime, better with food. A clear notch below the '02. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable when considering quality, age, and price.

February 10, 2020 - Like so many wines out of Tuscany, this one has indeed had a long life. It drank great, had very Brunello like characteristics, and is indeed a QPR - if you were ever to find it again. Excellent.

August 13, 2016 - Outside 34 degrees lat night sip. Straight from bottle no air time.

    Magnificent

January 7, 2014 - As IGT's go, this was very much an inexpensive wine. It is a good drink - my initial impression of the nose was ashes, and the palate impression is on the dark fruit side. But it also strikes me as particularly coarse, lacking finesse or subtlety. That said, pretty good QPR. Bought on closeout at Binny's for a price in the low teens.

October 19, 2013 - Soft, well integrated, was a little light for oxtail stew.
